Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Fire Damage Restoration Chicago handles, how it is used and shared, what we do not collect, and the choices you have. Effective date: October 30, 2026.

Who we are

This website, firedamagerestorationchicago.com (the "Site"), is a call-in referral service. When you call the number shown on the Site, your own call is connected to an independent restoration contractor, who speaks with you on that same call.

Scope of this policy

This policy covers information handled through the Site and through phone calls you place to the number shown on it. "We", "us" and "our" mean the Site and its operator.

It does not cover the independent contractors whose businesses take your call. When a contractor speaks with you, and in anything you arrange with them, their own privacy practices apply. You can ask a contractor about those practices during your call.

Information we collect

We keep the information we handle to the minimum needed to route your call and operate the Site.

  • What you choose to say on the callOn the call, you decide what to tell the contractor, for example your ZIP code, address and a description of the damage. The Site has no forms and never asks you to type in personal information.
  • Call routing informationThe phone system may log the number you called from, the date, time and length of the call, and an approximate location based on your area code, so the call can reach a contractor who serves your area. If a call is recorded, a notice plays at the start of the call.
  • Technical informationOur hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of each request.
  • What we do not collectWe do not collect email addresses, run sign-up forms, newsletters or marketing lists, or ask for payment card, bank, Social Security or other government identification numbers. We do not collect biometric information.

How we use information

  • To connect your callCall routing information is used to connect your call to a contractor who accepts work in your area.
  • To run and secure the SiteServer logs are used to keep the Site working, diagnose errors and protect it against abuse.
  • To meet legal obligationsInformation may be used where required by law or to respond to lawful requests.
  • No later contactWe do not use any information to call, text or email you after your call. We do not make outbound calls, send texts or emails, or run marketing of any kind.

How we share information

When you call, your call is connected to an independent contractor, who hears what you choose to say on that call. We do not pass your details to that contractor or to anyone else so that they can contact you later. Anything arranged after the call, such as an inspection or work, is agreed directly between you and the contractor during the call.

Service providers that operate the Site's hosting and phone systems may process technical and call routing information on our behalf, only to provide those services.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of any person, or as part of a transfer of the Site to a new operator, who would be bound by this policy.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

The Site does not currently use analytics tools, advertising pixels or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated before such tools are added, and any consent choices required by law will be provided.

How long we keep information

Call routing records and server logs are kept only as long as needed to operate the service, resolve problems and meet legal or accounting requirements, and are then deleted or anonymized. Call recordings, where made, are kept for a limited period for quality and dispute resolution and then deleted.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, including encrypted connections to the Site and access limits on our service providers' systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you rights over personal information about you. We honor the following requests from anyone, wherever they live:

  • KnowAsk what personal information we hold about you, if any, and how it has been used and shared.
  • DeleteAsk us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • CorrectAsk us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Opt outWe do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; you may still ask us to confirm this.
  • Non-discriminationWe will not treat you differently for making a privacy request.

How to make a privacy request

To make a request, call the number shown on the Site and say that you are calling about a privacy request. Because we hold very little information, we may ask for the phone number you called from and the approximate date of your call so we can find any related records. We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need more time, as some state laws allow. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information through a call, contact us by phone and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date and last updated date at the top will change when we do, and material changes will be noted on this page. This policy is general information about our practices; it is not legal advice.
