This is a call-in service: calling is the way to be connected with an independent restoration contractor. Have the details below ready and the call takes only a few minutes.

Helpful to have ready

  • Your address or ZIP code and the type of building
  • What burned and roughly when
  • Whether the fire department has released the building
  • Where water went and whether it is still dripping
  • Whether windows, doors or the roof are open
  • Your insurer and claim number, if you have one

What happens when you call

  1. 1

    Your call is connected

Your call goes to an independent restoration contractor who accepts work in your area.

  2. 2

You talk on the same call

Describe the damage; the contractor explains what they would look at and how they work.

  3. 3

    You decide next steps together

Any inspection or work is arranged directly between you and the contractor during the call.

While you wait for help

Stay out of the building until the fire department releases it. Do not turn utilities back on yourself. If you smell gas, leave and call 911 and Peoples Gas from outside. Photograph the damage before cleaning, and keep damaged items for your adjuster. Our guide on what to do after a house fire has the full checklist.

Fastest: call

A short call lets the contractor ask the questions that decide what visit you need.
